Gay Community Adopts Easier ABCDEFGHIJKLMNOPQRSTUVWXYZ+ Tagline

AMERICA – Activists in the gay community have finally adopted a streamlined, easier-to-say tagline. The new moniker is more user friendly than the traditional LGBTQIA+ the movement has used recently.

“I know it takes a little longer to say every time one refers to someone in the community, but the old one was hard for the average person to remember the order,” said one activist. “And LGBTQ looks like a Russian word or something. Most Americans don’t speak Russian. You can see why this was a problem.”

Tori Smythe, a progressive lesbian from Austin, said, “ABCDEFGHIJKLMNOPQRSTUVWXYZ+ rolls off the tongue easier, I think. In fact, since we’re trying to groom youngsters to embrace our lifestyle, it would be great if they could come up with an easy jingle to help them learn it easier. They could end it with ‘now I know my Gay-B-C’s…or something like that. I don’t know, I’m no educator.”

Activists say the + is there to be inclusive of the eventual new sexualities and genders that will be invented when extraterrestrials begin mingling with the human race. “That may not happen until far into the future, but we want to be ready,” Smythe said. “Let me be perfectly queer, we don’t want anybody or any THING to feel excluded.”
